Sukuna has reigned over the world of curses for many years until finally distributing his soul into twenty pieces with his fingers. We still don’t know what killed Sukuna but it’s most likely that there wasn’t anyone, and he chose to go dormant until a good fighter was born. A thousand years later, the birth of Gojo Satoru, Yuji, Toji, and others gave the perfect opportunity for Kenjaku to set forward his plans and bring Sukuna back.

Most of us were anticipating that it could be the formal self of Yuji that had killed Sukuna but that isn’t the case anymore. Now it’s confirmed that Yuji has no prior life like Sukuna and he isn’t directly connected to him. In the ancient story and JJK too, Sukuna was born a twin. A twin is especially a disadvantage in the world of curses as we have seen with Maki and Mai. After the death of Mai, Maki have grown significantly powerful.

This may be one of the reasons why Sukuna killed his twin. Although, he is saying that he killed and ate him to avoid hunger. The soul of the dead twin of Sukuna eventually landed in Kenjaku’s eye. Yuji’s father, Jin Itadori had Sukuna’s twin inside him. Kenjaku took over the body of Yuji’s mother and their matting eventually resulted in Itadori being born as a half-human and a half-curse. Having Sukuna for so long, Yuji has grown significantly powerful and has developed Sukuna’s curse technique inside himself too.

The Replacement Training

Before the battle between Gojo and Sukuna began, Yuji went into a special training, The Replacement Training that went unnoticed until now. The cursed technique of Ui Ui doesn’t only let him swap the position of two bodies, but also their soul. In one month, he can swap the soul of a body twice, meaning taking a different soul and then swapping back with the original.

The battle at Sibhuya started on November 1st. 19 days later, Gojo was released from the prison realm. The battle between Gojo and Sukuna started on December 25th. According to this time frame, Yuji must have swapped bodies only once. We got a hint of this replacement training earlier too but it went completely unnoticed.

In JJK Chapter 222, we saw Yuji and Kasukake training together where Kasukabe referred to Yuji as,” Sir”. Most of us just thought that would be a mistake or a sense of talking but it turned out something very crucial. Yuji and Kasukabe have swapped bodies so that Kasukabe can teach Yuji’s body Simple Domain Expansion or his New Shadow Style Domain Technique.

This training proved to be effective in the case of Yuji as his body is exceptionally going in absorbing cursed techniques and skills. We saw Yuji pulling off a simple domain against Sukuna’s Domain but his simple domain eventually broke off. Yuji’s foot got cut off but he stood back up again and the chapter ended there. However, in the upcoming chapter, we might see Yuji pulling off some more interesting and new techniques that we were not aware of.

JJK 259 Release Date and Time

At the end of the previous chapter, Sukuna finally used his Fire technique. As we witnessed last time, his fire technique is exceptionally powerful and enough to incinerate a million in seconds. Although, Yuji must be aware of this technique of his as he was inhibiting Sukuna’s soul at that time. So it would be interesting to see what countermeasures Yuji and others have planned against Sukuna’s technique.

JJK will be on a one-week hiatus and the upcoming chapter will be released a week later. The upcoming JJK 259 Release Date is set for May 12, 2024. The release time of the new chapter will remain the same. JJK 259 will hit the digital platform at 8:30 PM IST in Asian countries. For people in European countries, the chapter will be available around 5:30 PM EST on Sunday.

He even burned down Jogo, a Special Grade Fire Curse with just a single attack of his. His fire techniques seem unstoppable and fun all over the world and he is now rooting for Yuji. Even awakened, we aren’t aware of a technique that Yuji possesses that can defend him against the Divine Flame.
